Hi, great interview. What was the name of the 40 minute timer that Bob mentioned in the interview?
Hi Nick,
It’s Pomodoro – there are implementations of the Pomodoro Technique for every platform out there. If you are on a Mac, strongly recommend something called “Vitamin-R” – it’s flexibility, and it’s ability to accept Tasks from either Things or OmniFocus (but not Wunderlist
) is a real timesaver.
Patrick,
Yes, staying on “Do Not Disturb” for long periods is anti-social. Basically, you are saying I want to be able to interrupt you whenever I want but you can’t interrupt me.
I suggest that you close down your IM client for long periods of uninterrupted time.
Great podcast. Normal I start my day by chekhing email but this morning I changed that
Gordon: I don’t agree with you that pomodoro says that “I want to be able to interrupt you whenever I want but you can’t interrupt me.” It’s about handling your interruptions in a way that don’t break your focus.
