What's your opinion on transcripts?

Our guest Ian Ozsvald of Procasts.com for show #21 just posted a transcript at http://blog.procasts.co.uk/2009/04/startup-success-screencasting-podcast/.

What do you think of having transcripts available for each show?

    Transcripts are an excellent idea! Podcasts are all about information exchange, and having information in a second medium gives users much more flexibility in absorbing it. Please make transcripts available!

    Transcripts are an excellent idea. Transcripts would help when some topics of interest do not make it into the links for the show notes.
    Sponsors are OK to have, just try to keep the communications down to 15 second spots (in audio). Or just keep most of the extensive information about the sponsors on the blog notes.

    I voted no as I would never read them, but transcripts are important for search-ability of the podcast. Also good for the hearing impaired.

    Being a transcriptionist, I vote, “Yes, of course.” I have transcribed podcasts, blog talk radio episodes.

    Clients also want the documentation because they turn the data into e-Books or books.

    People want copies of transcripts, even the person that is being interviewed in a recording. So, I’m all for it.
